GAMBER PEELING

In order that Gamber could continue to diversify an opportunity arose for the purchase of some peeling equipment from one of our main customers who was struggling to dispose of the waste created by their plant. As Gamber is situated in the countryside is far easier to use the waste in the most environmentally friendly way rather than landfill which is not only costly but also against Gamber’s environmental strategy.

The business has grown substantially and is now fully BRC certified and supplying a large range of different customers all who have different requirements ranging from product size to a huge variety of different vegetables such as:

Potatoes

Onions White/Red

Carrots

Celery

Broccoli

Cabbage

Swede

Leeks                                                                                                                                                                                           Horseradish Production

One of the aims of Gamber is to offer a bespoke peeling service to customers who require something different which may not be huge in quantity and which large manufactures are not prepared to help with.

Gamber are always looking for opportunities and therefore are happy to look at customers needs and try to accommodate whenever possible.

With the BRC certification obtained in June 2008 and all material grown under the Assured Produce Scheme this has opened up a large amount of new avenues such as schools, hospital and public services who insist on this standard.

Gamber endeavours to use as much of it’s own grown produce as possible in order to keep haulage to a minimum with the carbon footprint in mind. When Gamber is unable to source material locally then it is collected from the wholesale market during the night and this allows small fresh quantities to be purchased therefore reducing waste.

Gamber has specialist-refrigerated transport, which allows the delivery of both small and large quantities of material dependant on customers needs.

We are always happy to show customers around our facilities and also tailor products to their individual needs.
